d804177be4 bitvector-bit-set? / bitvector-bit-clear? replace bitvector-ref
This is an opportunity to make a new interface that can be more
efficient in 3.0 (because no generic array support), easier to read (no
need for 'not'), and more consistent with other bitvector interfaces.

ff9979b6bc Replace bit-set*! with bitvector-set-bits! / bitvector-clear-bits!
The old name was wonky and hard to read: you almost always pass a
literal as the value to set, so better to make separate functions.

  (scm_bit_set_star_x, scm_bit_count_star): Deprecate arrays as target
  bitvectors, and also use of u32vector as selection vector.

  the first arg.

  Deprecate.  This interface lacked both generality and specificity.
  The general replacement is array-length, array-ref, and friends on the
  scheme side, or the array handle interface on the C side.  On the
  specific side of things, there are the specific bytevector, srfi-4,
  and bitvector interfaces.

39c5363b4f fix bit-set*! bug (!)
* libguile/bitvectors.c (scm_bit_set_star_x): Fix a long-standing (since
  2005) bug in which instead of using the kv bitvector, we actually use
  the `v' bitvector.  Also, change to allow `kv' being shorter than
  `v'.

* test-suite/tests/bitvectors.test ("bit-set*!"): Add tests.

* libguile/uniform.c (scm_c_uniform_vector_length): Don't call
  scm_uniform_vector_elements, as we don't need to be able to access the
  elements with pointers to bytes. Fixes uniform-vector-length on
  bitvectors.
