56a3dcd431 Remove references to undefined macros. 
The intent is to allow compilation with `-Wundef', which in turn should
make it easier to catch erroneous uses of nonexistent macros.

* libguile/__scm.h: Don't assume `BUILDING_LIBGUILE' is defined.

* libguile/conv-uinteger.i.c (SCM_TO_TYPE_PROTO): Remove unneeded CPP
  conditional on `TYPE_MIN == 0'.

* libguile/fports.c: Check for the definition of `HAVE_CHSIZE' and
  `HAVE_FTRUNCATE', not for their value.

* libguile/ports.c: Likewise.

* libguile/numbers.c (guile_ieee_init): Likewise with `HAVE_DINFINITY'
  and `HAVE_DQNAN'.

* test-suite/standalone/test-conversion.c (ieee_init): Likewise.

* libguile/strings.c: Likewise with `SCM_STRING_LENGTH_HISTOGRAM'.

* libguile/strings.h: Likewise.

* libguile/tags.h: Likewise with `HAVE_INTTYPES_H' and `HAVE_STDINT_H'.

* libguile/threads.c: Likewise with `HAVE_PTHREAD_GET_STACKADDR_NP'.

* libguile/vm-engine.c (VM_NAME): Likewise with `VM_CHECK_IP'.

* libguile/gen-scmconfig.c (main): Use "#ifdef HAVE_", not "#if HAVE_".

* libguile/socket.c (scm_setsockopt): Likewise.

43d5626ce7 Avoid type-limits warning in SCM_TO_TYPE_PROTO 
* libguile/conv-uinteger.i.c (SCM_TO_TYPE_PROTO): avoid a comparison
  that is always true due to the limited range of the data type

deprecated to being discouraged by moving to discouraged.h.

scm_i_size2big, scm_i_ptrdiff2big): Removed.
(scm_i_long2big, scm_i_ulong2big): New, explicit definitions.
* conv-integer.i.c, conv-uinteger.i.c: Use them instead of
explicit code.

bfd7932e66 * conv-integer.i.c, conv-uinteger.i.c: New files, used to generate 
the functions below.

* numbers.c, numbers.h (scm_to_int8, scm_to_uint8, scm_to_int16,
scm_to_uint16, scm_to_int32, scm_to_uint32, scm_to_int64,
scm_to_uint64, scm_from_int8, scm_from_uint8, scm_from_int16,
scm_from_uint16, scm_from_int32, scm_from_uint32, scm_from_int64,
scm_from_uint64): Turned from macros into proper functions.
(scm_to_signed_integer, scm_to_unsigned_integer,
scm_from_signed_integer, scm_from_unsigned_integer): Generate via
conv-integer.i.c and conv-uinteger.i.c, as well.
